We are building a smart home alarm and monitoring device that will change the way people approach the health & security of their home. Our ambition is that millions of people will use Minut to understand what’s going on inside their homes — allowing them to improve their safety today and catch any small issues before they become big issues.

We are trying to create a truly personalized product for each customer. That means delivering tailored insights and advice to each person based on their own situation and needs — whether that’s protecting their home from intruders & fire, or ensuring it’s an environmentally safe place to raise a family. All technology, from our custom hardware to the neural nets powering insights to our users, is developed in-house which gives you a unique opportunity to interact and learn from people with a broad range of backgrounds.

Minut prides itself in doing all development in-house: from ID, M-CAD/DFM to electronic design, PCB CAD, firmware and test system development. The Research team is responsible for running hardware development projects as well as developing the machine learning components in Minut's platform.

As part of the Research team, you’ll try out new concepts in hardware and firmware and help develop future versions of Point, as well as new products. You will work both independently and in small teams to explore and implement new technologies.

Who are you?

  • You want to be part of a team where the whole technology stack is developed in-house and you interact with everyone involved.
  • You’ve worked or tinkered with electronics and know your way around a microcontroller.
  • You get things done.
  • You enjoy the challenge of keeping both a high pace and quality.
  • You like having technical discussions.
  • You are curious.

You will work with

  • Designing hardware prototypes of sensors and subsystems (including PCB layout.)
  • Bring up, validate and debug hardware.
  • Develop firmware for existing and new products, as well as concept prototypes.
  • Develop and maintain internal hardware and software tools.

Previous experience

  • You have experience of designing, bringing up and debugging electronics and firmware.
  • You’re fluent in C and Python.
  • You’re comfortable with typical EE lab equipment (Logic analyzers and oscilloscopes, soldering equipment)
  • Excellent communication skills in English is a requirement, but Swedish is not.

Our current tech includes

ARM Cortex-M, FreeRTOS, LwIP, mbedTLS, Zephyr, Nimble, GCC, Python, Git, OpenOCD, KiCAD

Perks and Benefits

  • Ability to influence everything

Minut’s organisation is flat and transparent. Executive team meetings are open for all to join. Results of board meetings are presented at all-hands meetings. Once inside, you’ll have access to all data to be able to participate in the decision-making.

  • Responsibilities beyond the normal

The room to grow as an individual at Minut is immense. As a small team breaking new ground, you’ll get to take on tasks and responsibilities that you likely wouldn’t be able to do elsewhere and we’ll help you get there.

  • Ownership

Comes through responsibility, but at Minut we also translate that into financial ownership. All full-time employees are offered a generous stock options package. If we do well together, everyone benefits.

  • Incredible flexibility and travel

Whether you’re a parent or need some extra time to focus, you’re always welcome to work from home from time to time. We only ask that you communicate in advance and let your colleagues know. If you’re travelling, take the opportunity to work from any of our offices in Malmö, London or Stockholm.

  • Stellar colleagues

Work with some of the best people in the industry who recently worked at companies such as Apple, Google and S’well. Or why not challenge Fredrik on how to reverse engineer a 4G base station?

Workplace and Culture

Joy, experimentation and curiosity may not lead us on the straightest path but it will take us the furthest. We work hard to help and challenge each other to break new ground.

We believe in opportunities to share, socialise and relax with colleagues. "Fika" is a lot more than a simple coffee break. Sometimes these moments lead to the best ideas.

Whether you need to pick up the kids or simply take care of that in-home delivery, the hours and location where you work can be flexible from time to time. It's a marathon, not a sprint.
